Google honored her today by placing her image as Google doddle, which is often used to recognize astounding occasions or people. The late Emecheta wrote several famous novels including,  The Joys of Motherhood, The bride Price, Second Class Citizens, The Slave Girls etc.  Emacheta was born in Lagos in 1944 to the family of Alice (Okwuekwuhe) Emecheta and Jeremy Nwabudinke.
